Tonight, we invited a group of students to talk about the IEEE Student Branch Aachen and the Chapter. We discussed which topics we want to cover in future and planned engaging events in the field of power electronics and power engineering. The response of the students was very good. Especially our plans to support a development aid project for island networks in palestine seemed to motivate the group and we event went into planning this projects more in detail…
Other activities in near future include an excursion day trip to SIG in Linnich, a joined event with Energieforum Aachen about the E.ON Energy Research center and the fair “Future Energy” in Aachen. We also plan to organize the PESS conference in 2016.
IEEE Student Branch Aachen organized a tour through Aachen’s historic city center. In two groups we showed the fresh Masters our beautiful old town. Our guests were thrilled by Aachen’s impressive architecture and it’s lively history. The sometimes amusing stories like how the Lousberg was created and how the devil helped building the cathedral even made the good-mooded crowd laugh at times.
After the tour we spent a nice evening in Aachen’s vibrant pubs.
For Marco and Heiko it was a very interesting night and we met many interesting people, even if the field of Microwaves seems to be a completely different world to our electrical power engineering.
We will bring this website to life soon.
